[Notice] 2026 Fall Semester Midterm Examinations
Prevention of Academic Misconduct and Ethical Use of Generative AI
To promote a fair and trustworthy assessment environment, please observe the following guidelines during the midterm examination period in accordance with Kookmin University’s AI Code of Ethics.
-
Basic Principles
-
Course-specific guidelines take priority: Whether generative AI may be used—including full prohibition or partial permission—varies by course. Please check the syllabus and your instructor’s prior instructions.
-
Students bear final responsibility: Each student is academically and ethically responsible for any errors or distortions in AI-generated responses submitted under their name.
-
Independent thinking: Generative AI is a supplementary learning tool and must not replace a student’s own creative inquiry and critical thinking.
-
Major Types of Academic Misconduct
The following acts are considered serious academic misconduct and may result in strict disciplinary action under university regulations and the AI Code of Ethics.
-
Using AI to generate and submit answers without prior approval from the instructor
-
Failing to disclose the AI tool and prompts used when AI use is permitted for an assignment or examination
-
Intentionally altering AI-generated content to evade AI-detection programs
-
Possessing or using unauthorized electronic devices during an examination, including smartphones, smartwatches, wireless earphones, and smart glasses
-
Other misconduct specified in the University Regulations and Academic Regulations
-
How to Cite AI Use When Permitted
If an instructor officially permits the use of AI for take-home examinations or other assignment-based assessments, students must state the details of their AI use at the end of their submission.
Example:
ChatGPT-4o. (YYYY.MM.DD). “[Prompt: Summarize the limitations of OO theory].”

Please review these guidelines carefully and follow your instructor’s directions to avoid any academic disadvantage.
